Disabled users to test websites 17 March 06 - 18:12

Usability Exchange

Usability Exchange promises to make it much easier to have sites tested for usability and accessibility.

(via BBC News)

It looks like disabled users are finally getting an organised vote in assessing the usability and accessibility of (at least in the English-speaking world).
Usability Exchange allows companies and other organizations to submit their site to usability testing by a selected panel of disabled users, who will carry out the testing in their own speed and will get paid for their work.

This could be another step forward in the digital emancipation of really all users. Don't forget that an accessible site for handicapped or elder is also a better site for all of us.
